Ahead-of-time query compilation for json-relational duality views

One or more non-transitory storage media storing one or more sequences of instructions which, when executed by one or more computing devices, cause:

• compiling source code into executable code for execution within a database session of a database management system (“DBMS”), wherein said source code:
• defines a class having class attributes;
• defines a class attribute mapping between said class attributes and JSON fields of a JSON duality view defined by said DBMS, wherein a JSON duality view definition stored in a database dictionary of said DBMS maps said JSON fields to a plurality of base columns of a plurality of base tables, said JSON duality view definition defining said JSON duality view;
• wherein compiling said source code comprises:
• retrieving, from said DBMS, object construction information that indicates how to construct a JSON object belonging to said JSON duality view;
• based on said object construction information, generating an implementation code for instantiating said class, wherein said generated implementation code:
• for each base table of said plurality of said base tables, invokes an API of said DBMS to retrieve a respective subset of field values of said JSON fields from one or more base columns of said each base table;
• populates said class attributes with said retrieved respective subsets of field values.
