Abstract
Methods, systems, and devices are provided for managing operation of a distributed system. To manage the system, tacit statements may be used to infer the intent that stakeholders have for operation of the distributed system. The tacit statements may be analyzed to identify whether the coverage indicated by the tacit statements is sufficient for accurate intent interpretation. If the tacit statements are insufficient, then supplemental tacit statements may be obtained to improve the likelihood of accurately inferring the intent of the stakeholders.
Claims20
A method for managing a distributed system, the method comprising:
- obtaining information regarding coverage of tacit statements for management of a distributed system;
- making, using the information, a determination regarding whether the coverage is sufficient;
- in an instance of the determination where the coverage is insufficient:
- identifying a deficiency in the coverage;
- obtaining a supplemental tacit statement based on the deficiency;
- defining applicability information for the supplemental tacit statement;
- updating operation of the distributed system using at least the supplemental tacit statement and the applicability information to obtain an updated distributed system;
- and
- providing computer implemented services using the updated distributed system.
A non-transitory machine-readable medium having instructions stored therein, which when executed by a processor, cause operations for managing a distributed system to be performed, the operations comprising:
- obtaining information regarding coverage of tacit statements for management of a distributed system;
- making, using the information, a determination regarding whether the coverage is sufficient;
- in an instance of the determination where the coverage is insufficient:
- identifying a deficiency in the coverage;
- obtaining a supplemental tacit statement based on the deficiency;
- defining applicability information for the supplemental tacit statement;
- updating operation of the distributed system using at least the supplemental tacit statement and the applicability information to obtain an updated distributed system;
- and
- providing computer implemented services using the updated distributed system.
A system, comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a memory coupled to the processor to store instructions, which when executed by the
- processor, cause operations for managing a distributed system to be performed, the operations comprising:
- obtaining information regarding coverage of tacit statements for management of a distributed system;
- making, using the information, a determination regarding whether the coverage is sufficient;
- in an instance of the determination where the coverage is insufficient:
- identifying a deficiency in the coverage;
- obtaining a supplemental tacit statement based on the deficiency;
- defining applicability information for the supplemental tacit statement;
- updating operation of the distributed system using at least the supplemental tacit statement and the applicability information to obtain an updated distributed system;
- and
- providing computer implemented services using the updated distributed system.
