Abstract
A first indication of an input/output (I/O) operation to be performed by a first storage system controller is stored in memory of a particular storage device storing data associated with the I/O operation by a second storage system controller. The first indication causes the particular storage device to store the data in a buffer of the first storage system controller. A second indication from the first storage system controller that the I/O operation has been completed is received via the particular storage device.
Claims20
A storage system comprising:
- a plurality of storage devices;
- a plurality of storage system controllers operatively coupled to the plurality of storage devices;
- and
- a memory associated with at least one storage device of the plurality of storage devices, wherein a first storage system controller is configured to store, in the memory, information describing an input/output (I/O) operation, and wherein a second storage system controller is configured to access the information and perform the I/O operation based at least in part on the information.
A method comprising:
- storing, by a first storage system controller, information describing an input/output (I/O) operation in a memory associated with a storage device;
- and
- accessing, by a second storage system controller, the information and performing the I/O operation based at least in part on the information.
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions which, when executed by a processing device of a storage system controller, cause the processing device to:
- store information describing an input/output (I/O) operation in a memory associated with a storage device;
- and
- access the information or cause another storage system controller to access the information to perform the I/O operation based at least in part on the information.
