Abstract
The present systems and methods enable a web browser to recommend or present features to a user based on the content of a web page. The features, which may include various actions that can be taken and different display configurations for viewing the content of the web page, may be specific to the type(s) of content that are present on the web page. Furthermore, such features may be presented to the user upon detection of a trigger that indicates an intent to arrange or configure a tab of the browser. Such features may be presented as transient graphical elements that illustrate the feature.
Claims20
A system for providing graphical browser actions, the system comprising:
- a processing system;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processing system, cause the system to:
- receive a first input associated with a tab of a web browser;
- determine contextual information related to content in the tab;
- determine, based at least in part on the contextual information, one or more browser actions applicable to the tab;
- display one or more action elements corresponding respectively to the one or more actions, the one or more action elements providing graphical indications of the one or more browser actions;
- receive a second input associated with the tab;
- determine a selected action element of the one or more action elements based on the second input;
- and
- perform a browser action on the tab corresponding to the selected action element.
A method for providing graphical browser actions, comprising:
- receiving a first input associated with a tab of a web browser;
- determining contextual information related to content in the tab;
- determining, based at least in part on the contextual information, one or more browser actions applicable to the tab;
- displaying one or more action elements corresponding respectively to the one or more actions, the one or more action elements providing graphical indications of the one or more browser actions;
- receiving a second input associated with the tab;
- determine a selected action element of the one or more action elements based on the second input;
- and
- performing a browser action on the tab corresponding to the selected action element.
A system for providing browser configurations recommendations, the system comprising:
- a processing system;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the processing system, cause the system to:
- receive a first input associated with an intent to reconfigure a tab of a web browser;
- determine contextual information related to content in the tab;
- determine, based at least in part on the contextual information, one or more browser interface configurations applicable to the content;
- display one or more graphical elements corresponding respectively to the one or more browser interface configurations;
- receive a second input associated with an interaction with a graphical element of the one or more graphical elements;
- display a preview of a browser interface configuration corresponding to the graphical element during the interaction;
- receive a third input associated with a selection of the graphical element;
- and
- present at least a portion of the content in the browser interface configuration.
