An information processing method that is executed by at least one computer, the information processing method comprising:

• acquiring feature information about a hand or arm, from a captured image of a hand or arm obtained by an imaging unit of a head-mounted display;
• calculating a matching degree between feature information about a hand or arm of a user of the head-mounted display registered in advance and the acquired feature information acquired;
• and
• performing a first determination operation of determining, based on the matching degree, whether or not the hand or arm in the captured image is the hand or arm of the user.

A non-transitory recording medium on which a computer program that allows at least one computer to execute an information processing method is recorded, the information processing method including:

• acquiring feature information about a hand or arm, from a captured image of a hand or arm obtained by an imaging unit of a head-mounted display;
• calculating a matching degree between feature information about a hand or arm of a user of the head-mounted display registered in advance and the acquired feature information acquired;
• and
• performing a first determination operation of determining, based on the matching degree, whether or not the hand or arm in the captured image is the hand or arm of the user.
