Abstract

An autonomous vehicle, preferably acting as an autonomous robot for operation in animal farming enclosures, such as poultry farming sites, with the capacity of moving autonomously in environments with the presence of elevated barriers on the terrain, for example corrugated pipes across the corridors. The vehicle includes a chassis supported by a set of wheels, with at least one wheel configured as the climbing engagement wheel. This special wheel has perimeter paddles, at least one of which has a radial lug designed to fit with interference in a groove included in the barriers present on the enclosure, generating an efficient climbing or crawling effect. Hence, this vehicle results highly effective to overcome obstacles, optimizing its mobility within a farming environment.

Dependent claims

An autonomous vehicle (1) for farming labor within an animal farming enclosure, such as a poultry farming site, with the capacity of moving autonomously within said enclosure, where the enclosure has at least one elevated barrier (20) on the terrain, the autonomous vehicle comprising:

a chassis (3),
a control unit (U),
a plurality of wheels (10) supporting said chassis (3), wherein at least one wheel of said plurality of wheels is a climbing engagement wheel (10s),
at least one motor device (M) to power at least one of the wheels in said plurality of wheels,
wherein:
at least one climbing engagement wheel (10s) comprises:
a plurality of perimeter paddles (11) distributed along the perimeter of said climbing engagement wheel (10s), and
wherein at least one of said perimeter paddles (11) has a radial lug (30) with a geometry of interference fit into a seating groove (22) in said elevated barrier (20) on the terrain.
