Abstract
A method includes navigating, by a UAV, onto a first track of a UAV holding system, where the first track has a length sufficient to hold a plurality of UAVs. The method also includes determining, by the UAV, a location of the UAV along the first track based on a locating component associated with the UAV holding system. The method also includes performing, by the UAV, a control operation based on the determined location of the UAV along the first track.

A method comprising:
- navigating, by a UAV, onto a first track of a UAV holding system;
- determining, by the UAV, a location of the UAV along the first track based on a locating component associated with the UAV holding system;
- and
- performing, by the UAV, a control operation based on the determined location of the UAV along the first track.
A holding system for uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs), the holding system comprising:
- a track including a first track section and a second track section;
- and
- a first locating component adjacent to the first track section, wherein the first locating component is detectable by a UAV to determine a first location of the UAV along the track;
- and
- a second locating component adjacent to the second track section, wherein the second locating component is detectable by the UAV to determine a second location of the UAV along the track.
