Abstract
Eyeglasses frames are provided that incorporate biometric system disrupters such as infrared light emitters for disrupting facial recognition systems. Infrared light emitters, control circuits, power systems, and thermal management features are integrated discreetly into ordinary-appearing frames to provide continuous or on-demand infrared emission that corrupts image capture of facial features under varied lighting. The frames are designed for comfortable extended wear, with stealth integration of components and adaptive power management. The frames may be combined with other biometric system disrupting components. Methods of using the eyeglasses to prevent reliable biometric system recognition of the wearer are also disclosed.
Claims14
Eyeglasses frames for disrupting biometric system facial recognition of a user's face comprising:
- (a) a plurality of infrared emitters configured to emit near-infrared radiation within about 780 nm-1100 nm;
- (b) a power subsystem operatively coupled to the emitters;
- (c) at least one controller configured to modulate emission intensity and/or timing, optionally in response to sensor input;
- (d) a thermal-management elements operatively coupled to the emitters;
- and
- wherein, when activated, the infrared emission disrupts facial recognition under varied ambient lighting conditions while the frames maintain the appearance of ordinary eyeglasses.
