An optical fiber cable, comprising:
- an outer jacket;
- a plurality of optical fiber units disposed within the outer jacket in a first array, each of the plurality of optical fiber units comprising a plurality of optical fiber ribbons and a polymer layer binding the plurality of optical fiber ribbons;
- wherein each of the plurality of optical fiber ribbons comprises a plurality of optical fibers, and wherein at least some of the plurality of optical fibers in each of the plurality of optical fiber ribbons are bonded intermittently along a length of the optical fibers.
An optical fiber cable, comprising:
- a polyethylene outer jacket;
- a plurality of strength members embedded in the outer jacket;
- a plurality of optical fiber units disposed within the outer jacket in at least one array;
- a water blocking binder disposed within the outer jacket and around the plurality of optical fiber units,
- wherein each of the plurality of optical fiber units comprising a plurality of optical fiber ribbons and a polymer layer binding the plurality of optical fiber ribbons, and wherein each of the plurality of optical fiber ribbons comprises a plurality of optical fibers, and wherein at least some of the plurality of optical fibers in each of the plurality of optical fiber ribbons are bonded intermittently along a length of the optical fibers.
