Abstract
An arrangement for strain relief of a cable, in particular an optical cable, comprising the cable and a tension-protection component fastened to the cable by means of an adhesive. A cable sheath of the cable within the tension-protection component is removed sectionally circumferentially or completely interrupted peripherally along a cable longitudinal axis (L) such that a cavity is formed between an inner side of the tension-protection component and a cable layer of the cable running below the cable sheath; into which cavity the adhesive is introduced.
Claims15
An arrangement (1) for strain relief of a cable (2), in particular an optical cable (2), comprising:
- the cable (2) and a tension-protection component (14) fastened to the cable (2) by means of an adhesive (18), characterized in that a cable sheath (8) of the cable (2) within the tension-protection component (14) is removed sectionally circumferentially or completely interrupted peripherally along a cable longitudinal axis (L) such that a cavity (16) is formed between an inner side (15) of the tension-protection component (14) and a cable layer (7) of the cable (2) running below the cable sheath (8), into which cavity the adhesive (18) is introduced.
A plug connector arrangement (21), comprising:
- a plug connector (3), in particular an optical plug connector (3);
- and
- an arrangement (1) for strain relief of a cable (2).
A method for mounting a cable (2) in a plug connector (3), comprising at least the following method steps:
- providing a cable (2), in particular an optical cable (2);
- providing a tension-protection component (14) of the plug connector (3);
- removing a cable sheath (8) of the cable (2) sectionally circumferentially, or circumferentially completely severing and carrying out a partial pulling-off of the cable sheath (8), and then introducing the corresponding cable portion into the tension-protection component (14) such that a cavity (16) is formed between an inner side (15) of the tension-protection component (14) and a cable layer (7) of the cable (2) running below the cable sheath (8);
- and
- introducing an adhesive (18) into the cavity (16) in order to fasten the tension-protection component (14) to the cable (2).
