Abstract

A magnetic sensor comprises a magnetic body and a first magnetic field sensing element that has a magnetic field sensing direction in a first direction. In the first direction, the center of the magnetic body is at a position different from the center of the first magnetic field sensing element. The magnetic body is located apart from the first magnetic field sensing element in a second direction which is the direction of thickness of the first magnetic field sensing element. The magnetic body includes a soft magnetic layer and a first fixed magnetization portion whose magnetization direction is fixed with respect to an external magnetic field. In a plan view from a third direction that is orthogonal to each of the first and second directions, the first fixed magnetization portion is closer to the first magnetic field sensing element than is the center of the magnetic body.
