System and method of calculating battery usage and degradation

A system comprising:

• a memory;
• and
• a processor that is communicatively coupled to the memory, wherein the processor is operable to:
• receive a first input comprising information on one or more grid supporting services;
• retrieve battery specifications of a battery and historical battery usage data corresponding to the battery of a vehicle;
• determine one or more baseline battery consumption patterns based on the first input, the battery specifications, and the historical battery usage data;
• simulate battery performance in relation to the one or more grid supporting services by incorporating change in frequency and intensity of charge and discharge cycles over time based on the one or more baseline battery consumption patterns;
• calculate battery usage and battery degradation during the simulation of the battery performance under the one or more grid supporting services;
• and
• generate a report upon calculating the battery usage and the battery degradation.

A method comprising:

• receiving a first input comprising information on one or more grid supporting services;
• retrieving battery specifications of a battery and historical battery usage data corresponding to the battery of a vehicle;
• determining one or more baseline battery consumption patterns based on the first input, the battery specifications, and the historical battery usage data;
• simulating battery performance in relation to the one or more grid supporting services by incorporating change in frequency and intensity of charge and discharge cycles over time based on the one or more baseline battery consumption patterns;
• calculating battery usage and battery degradation during the simulation of the battery performance under the one or more grid supporting services;
• and
• generating a report upon calculating the battery usage and the battery degradation.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium comprising a sequence of instructions, which when executed by a processor causes:

• receiving a first input comprising information on one or more grid supporting services;
• retrieving battery specifications of a battery and historical battery usage data corresponding to the battery of a vehicle;
• determining one or more baseline battery consumption patterns based on the first input, the battery specifications, and the historical battery usage data;
• simulating battery performance in relation to the one or more grid supporting services by incorporating change in frequency and intensity of charge and discharge cycles over time based on the one or more baseline battery consumption patterns;
• calculating battery usage and battery degradation during the simulation of the battery performance under the one or more grid supporting services;
• and
• generating a report upon calculating the battery usage and the battery degradation.
