Multi-chip packaging of integrated circuits and flow cells for nanopore sequencing

A nanopore-based sequencing device, comprising:

• one or more printed circuit boards;
• a plurality of nanopore-based sequencing chips disposed on the one or more printed circuit boards, wherein the plurality of nanopore-based sequencing chips are electrically connected to the one or more printed circuit boards, wherein each of the nanopore-based sequencing chips comprises a plurality of nanopore sensors, each nanopore sensor configured to support a membrane and a nanopore that is inserted into the membrane;
• and
• a plurality of flow cells disposed on the one or more printed circuit boards and over the plurality of nanopore-based sequencing chips, wherein each flow cell is disposed over a single nanopore-based sequencing chip, wherein each flow cell comprises a fluid inlet.
