Various embodiments of the teachings herein include a sensor for estimating an oxygen concentration. An example includes: a reference terminal; a pump and sense terminal; a first sensor disk; a boundary member including a second sensor disk; one or more spacers; a heater; a pair of electric terminals galvanically connected to the heater; a temperature sensing element and a plurality of electric terminals connected to the temperature sensing element; an electric supply connected to the heater via the pair of electric terminals; and an electric circuit connected to the temperature sensing element via the plurality of electric terminals. The boundary member, the one or more spacers, and the reference terminal enclose a sealed chamber. The boundary member is interposed between the heater and the sealed chamber. The electric circuit is galvanically isolated from the electric supply.
