X-ray inspection apparatus

An X-ray inspection apparatus comprising:

• a conveying unit configured to convey an object being inspected;
• an X-ray irradiator configured to cause an X-ray tube to generate X-rays and irradiate the generated X-rays on the object that is being conveyed by the conveying unit;
• an X-ray detector configured to detect the X-rays irradiated on the object;
• a first control unit configured to inspect whether the object is defective based on a detection value detected by the X-ray detector and output, to the X-ray irradiator, a first voltage value and a first current value, which respectively are a value of a voltage and a value of a current which are to be inputted to the X-ray tube, so that output of the X-ray tube is equal to or less than a first output;
• and
• a second control unit configured to restrict the voltage or the current inputted to the X-ray tube independently of the first control unit, the second control unit being configured as a component separate from the first control unit,
• the second control unit being configured to restrict, in a case where the output of the X-ray tube exceeds the first output when the voltage at the first voltage value and the current at the first current value outputted from the first control unit are inputted to the X-ray tube, the voltage or the current inputted to the X-ray tube so that the output of the X-ray tube is equal to or less than the first output.
