Abstract
Disclosed herein, inter alia, are devices and methods for efficient transfer and analyses of cellular material, tissue samples, such as tissue sections, using carrier substrates and devices.

A method of forming a reaction chamber comprising tissue sections, said method comprising:
- attaching a first tissue portion to a first glass solid support at a first location;
- attaching a second tissue portion to the first glass solid support at a second location, wherein the first location and second location correspond to receptacles of a receiving array removably attached to the first glass solid support;
- removing the receiving array from the first glass solid support while retaining the tissue sections on the first glass solid support;
- and
- after removing the receiving array, attaching a second glass solid support to the first glass solid support to define a reaction chamber when attached to the first glass solid support.

A device comprising a flow cell, wherein said flow cell comprises
- a first glass solid support comprising a plurality of tissue portions;
- and
- a second glass solid support attached to the first glass solid support, which defines a reaction chamber when attached to the first glass solid support.
