Abstract
The invention relates to a carrier for loads, such as a fork for a lifting device, and a fork board and/or lifting device provided with such a carrier and associated method. The carrier according to the invention comprises:—coupling means configured to couple the carrier to the lifting device;—a carrier part for carrying loads,—an optical fiber cable arranged in or on the carrier part; and—an optical fiber controller which is operatively connectable to the optical fiber cable and is configured to perform a measurement with the optical fiber cable, such that the weight of the load or loads on the carrier can be determined.
Claims23
A carrier for loads, such as a fork for a lifting device, comprising:
- coupling means configured to couple the carrier to the lifting device;
- a carrier part for carrying loads,
- an optical fiber cable arranged in or on the carrier part;
- and
- an optical fiber controller which is operatively connectable to the optical fiber cable and is configured to perform a measurement with the optical fiber cable, such that the weight of the load or loads on the carrier can be determined.
A lifting device such as a fork-lift truck, comprising a fork board, the fork board comprising:
- an optical fiber cable arranged in or on the fork board;
- and
- an optical fiber controller which is operatively connectable to the optical fiber cable and is configured to perform a measurement with the optical fiber cable, such that the weight of the load or loads on a carrier connected to the fork board can be determined.

A method for performing a weight measurement of a load on a carrier, such as a fork for a lifting device, comprising the steps of:
- providing a carrier or lifting device with a fork board, the carrier comprising:
- coupling means configured to couple the carrier to the lifting device;
- a carrier part for carrying loads;
- an optical fiber cable arranged in or on the carrier part;
- and
- an optical fiber controller which is operatively connectable to the optical fiber cable, wherein the optical fiber controller is configured to perform a measurement with the optical fiber cable such that the weight of the load or loads on the carrier can be determined;
- and
- performing a measurement.
