A haptic navigation system delivers navigation guidance through vibrotactile feedback without requiring visual display or audio output. The system encodes heading deviation as a structured vibrotactile gradient: a null vibration state when the user's or device's orientation is within a configurable threshold of the target heading, with vibration intensity increasing proportionally as angular deviation increases toward 180 degrees. The system is implemented via one or more orientation sensors comprising at least one of a gyroscope, accelerometer, magnetometer, GPS/GNSS receiver, or camera-based orientation system. A vibration actuator delivers the encoded gradient through a wristband wearable, smartwatch, smartphone, augmented reality glasses frame via bone conduction transducers, or other haptic output device. A distributed architecture supports a first computing device executing the navigation engine wirelessly paired to a second haptic output device.
