Provided is a driving assistance device configured to generate a travel path that suppresses a steep turn or sudden deceleration upon traveling on a curved section, as a travel path recommended for vehicle travel. Specifically, it is configured such that a planned travel route along which a vehicle travels is obtained; when the obtained planned travel route includes a curve, a passing point is set between a coordinate point placed along a center line of a lane in which the vehicle is planning to travel and a marking on an inner side of the curve, targeting a curved section including the curve and using map information including information about markings; as a travel path recommended for the vehicle to travel along, a travel path that passes through the passing point is generated, targeting the curved section; and driving assistance for the vehicle is provided based on the generated travel path.
