Abstract
A method of forming a carbon fiber rifle barrel may include the steps of affixing a carbon fiber tube around a barrel core. The carbon fiber tube may be formed from a sheet of carbon fiber, and the sheet of carbon fiber may include unidirectional carbon fibers. A vacuum layer insulation component or vacuum heat shield may be placed between the carbon fiber tube and the barrel core.

A method of forming a rifle barrel comprising the steps of:
- affixing an insulation shield around a barrel core, wherein the insulation shield is a vacuum tube;
- and
- affixing a carbon fiber tube around the insulation shield.
A method of forming a rifle barrel comprising the steps of:
- affixing an insulation shield around a barrel core, wherein the insulation shield is a vacuum tube;
- and
- wrapping a carbon fiber sheet around the insulation shield, wherein the carbon fiber sheet forms a carbon tube, and wherein the sheet of carbon fiber comprises unidirectional carbon fibers.
A method of forming a rifle barrel comprising the steps of:
- affixing an insulation shield around a barrel core, wherein the insulation shield is a vacuum tube;
- and
- affixing a carbon fiber sheet or tube around the insulation shield.
