A roof top unit (RTU) including heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) components and an exterior casing disposed around the HVAC components. The exterior casing includes a plurality of detachable modular components configured to protect the HVAC components from environmental conditions. At least one of the detachable modular components includes a Polypropylene Random Copolymer (PPR) intermediate layer, a first protective layer bonded to a first side of the PPR intermediate layer, and a second protective layer bonded to an opposite second side of the PPR intermediate layer to form a sandwich structure. The modular components may include detachable panels, snap-fit or interlocking mechanisms, interchangeable sizes and shapes, thermal insulation, hydrophobic coatings, reflective materials, and configurable air intake, exhaust, or service panel layouts. The structural enclosure may include an arcuate tubular shell defining an interior volume for receiving the HVAC components.
