Abstract
An integrated ceiling and light system that incorporates a light module into a ceiling tile. The system may include an acoustic ceiling tile and a light module magnetically coupled to the acoustic ceiling tile.
Claims22
An integrated ceiling and light system comprising:
- an acoustic ceiling tile comprising:
- a front surface;
- a rear surface opposite the front surface;
- and
- a recess in the front surface of the ceiling tile, the recess comprising a floor;
- and
- a light module disposed within the recess of the ceiling tile and magnetically coupled to the acoustic ceiling tile.

An integrated ceiling and light system comprising:
- an acoustic ceiling tile comprising:
- a front surface;
- a rear surface opposite the front surface;
- a mounting region;
- a first electrical conductor embedded within the acoustic ceiling tile and electrically coupled to a first contact member positioned at the mounting region, and a second electrical conductor embedded within the acoustic ceiling tile and electrically coupled to a second contact member positioned at the mounting region;
- and
- a light module magnetically coupled to the acoustic ceiling tile at the mounting region, the light module comprising first and second electrical contacts that electrically engage the first and second contact members when the light module is coupled to the acoustic ceiling tile.
An integrated ceiling and light system comprising:
- a vertical panel suspended from a support structure, the vertical panel having a bottom edge that faces an interior space, a top edge opposite the bottom edge, first and second side edges extending between the top and bottom edges, a front surface, and a rear surface opposite the front surface;
- and
- a light module mounted to one of the first and second side edges of the vertical panel between the top and bottom edges so that a light emitting surface of the light module faces towards the vertical panel such that light emitted by the light module is directed towards and reflects off of at least one of the front and rear surfaces of the vertical panel.
