A hot water mixing valve assembly includes a valve body defining hot and cold water inlets, a mixed water outlet, and a mixing chamber. A shuttle is movable in the mixing chamber between first and second valve seats to vary respective amounts of hot and cold water delivered to the mixing chamber. An actuator is operatively coupled to the shuttle, and a controller commands movement of the actuator based at least in part on temperature data from a temperature sensor positioned to sense mixed water discharged toward the outlet. The controller may slow a speed of the actuator as the shuttle approaches the valve seats. The valve may include sleeve inserts, end caps, and a removable shuttle assembly for servicing. The shuttle may include opposed plugs having distal-facing grooves that receive lips of corresponding valve seats and proximal-facing grooves that capture a seal between the plugs.
