Variable air funnel apparatus

A variable air funnel apparatus comprising variable air funnels arranged to be juxtaposed to each other, the variable air funnels including fixed funnels connected to a plurality of intake ports of an internal combustion engine installed in a vehicle, respectively, and movable funnels disposed above the fixed funnels to shift in a central axis direction of the fixed funnels, respectively, wherein

• the arranged movable funnels have a separated position where the movable funnels shift together upward in the central axis direction of the fixed funnels to be separated from the fixed funnels, and a coupled position where the movable funnels shift together downward in the central axis direction of the fixed funnels to be coupled to the fixed funnels,
• the variable air funnels have a variable intake passage length in which an effective funnel channel length is increased by the movable funnels shifting to the coupled position, and the effective funnel channel length is reduced by the movable funnels shifting to the separated position,
• when the movable funnels are in the coupled position, all of the variable air funnels are equal in effective funnel channel length, and
• when the movable funnels are in the separated position, at least one of the fixed funnels is different from the other fixed funnels in height of their upstream-end openings, and at least one of the variable air funnels is different in effective funnel channel length from the other variable air funnels.
