Abstract
A system and a method are described for operating an engine following a fuel cut-off event. In one example, a method includes adjusting a fueling set point following a fuel cut-off event in response to feedback of a most downstream exhaust gas sensor of a plurality of exhaust gas sensors.
Claims20
A method, comprising:
- adjusting a fueling set point following a fuel cut-off event in response to feedback of a most downstream exhaust gas sensor of a plurality of exhaust gas sensors.
A system, comprising:
- an exhaust system comprising a primary exhaust gas sensor upstream of a plurality of aftertreatment devices;
- a plurality of exhaust gas sensors arranged in the exhaust system, and wherein at least one of the plurality of exhaust gas sensors is arranged downstream of at least one of the plurality of aftertreatment devices;
- and
- a controller comprising instructions stored on non-transitory memory thereof that when executed enable the controller to:
- initiate a fuel cut-off event;
- sense a state of each of the plurality of aftertreatment devices;
- and
- adjust a fueling set point following the fuel cut-off event in response to the state of at least one of the plurality of aftertreatment devices.
5 more elements
A method comprising:
- operating an engine after a fuel cut-off event;
- monitoring a mass flow accumulation via an exhaust sensor positioned downstream of an aftertreatment device;
- and
- adjusting a fueling set point of the engine incrementally toward a baseline fueling set point based on the mass flow accumulation.
