Perforation system and method

Abstract

A perforating system, including a housing having a radially inward wall and a radially outward wall, the radially inward wall and radially outward wall defining a space therebetween, a port extending through the radially inward wall, fluidly connecting the space with an inside diameter volume defined by the radially inward wall, a removable closure initially closing the port, a perforating charge disposed in the space, and a perforating charge activation configuration in operative communication with the perforating charge and the port. A method for perforating a well including opening a port in a housing by disturbing a frangible seat initially closing the port, triggering an activation configuration via pressure change in the port, and igniting a perforating charge with the activation configuration. A wellbore system, including a borehole in a subsurface formation, a string in the borehole, and a perforating system disposed within or as a part of the string.
