Disclosed herein is a concrete pole equipped with an energy-dissipating mechanism and stabilizing system. The disclosed concrete pole consists of several pre-cast parts of hollow reinforced concrete connected to each other and to the pole with two sets of post-tensioning cables in a special order. A group of cables, known as peripheral cables, pass through the pipes embedded in the wall of the parts and pass through all the pre-cast parts together. Another set of cables, known as central cables, pass through the middle of all the parts and are tied at the top of the upper part to connect the pole to the foundation and create stability. The mild steel bars in the lower part of the pole are responsible for energy dissipation and providing ductility during the lateral deformation of the pole caused by the sever earthquakes.
