Abstract
A rubber composition comprising more than 90 phr of a highly saturated diene elastomer that is a copolymer of ethylene and 1,3-butadiene is provided. The rubber composition contains more than 50 mol % of ethylene units, between 30 phr and 55 phr of a reinforcing filler that comprises more than 90% by weight of a carbon black, a vulcanization system and a content of less than 3 phr of a polyalkylene glycol bearing a hydroxy function at either end of the polymer chain. The polyalkylene glycol is a homopolymer of ethylene glycol or propylene glycol or a copolymer of ethylene glycol and propylene glycol. The composition has improved crack propagation resistance properties.
