Abstract

Provided is a decomposition method for a polyester-based resin, which can efficiently produce a diol and a dicarboxylate from the polyester-based resin in a short time period without using a solvent. Also provided is a decomposition apparatus for a polyester-based resin, which decomposes the polyester-based resin to efficiently produce a diol and a dicarboxylate in a short time period without using a solvent. A decomposition method for a polyester-based resin according to an embodiment of the present invention includes kneading a mixture containing a polyester-based resin and a solid alkali compound to produce a diol and a dicarboxylate. A decomposition apparatus for a polyester-based resin according to an embodiment of the present invention is a decomposition apparatus configured to decompose a polyester-based resin to produce a diol and a dicarboxylate, and includes a kneading portion configured to knead a mixture containing the polyester-based resin and a solid alkali compound.
