An isolated artificial antigen presenting cell (aAPC) comprising a K562 myeloid cell, an MOLM14 cell, or an EM-3 cell, wherein the aAPC is stably transduced with one or more viral vectors comprising a nucleic acid encoding a 4-1BBL polypeptide, wherein the aAPC expresses the 4-1BBL polypeptide on its surface, wherein the aAPC is capable of expanding a tumor infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL), when co-cultured with the aAPC, into a population of TILs, wherein the aAPC preferentially increases CD8+ TILs, and wherein
- i) the K562 myeloid cell endogenously expresses CD58;
- ii) the MOLM14 cell endogenously expresses CD64;
- and/or
- iii) the EM-3 cell endogenously expresses ICOS-L.
