Abstract
The present invention provides a method of producing a bio-derived ester compound with reduced odor, a bio-derived ester compound produced by the production method, a cosmetic or a detergent including the ester compound, and a method of reducing an odor of an ester compound.
Claims9
A method of producing a bio-derived ester compound, comprising:
- a step of providing a bio-derived branched primary alcohol having a branched alkyl group having 6 to 12 carbon atoms, the step comprising dimerizing one kind or two or more kinds selected from the group consisting of:
- a bio-derived linear primary alcohol having a linear alkyl group having 3 to 6 carbon atoms;
- a bio-derived linear primary alcohol having a linear alkenyl group having 3 to 6 carbon atoms;
- a bio-derived linear aldehyde having a linear alkyl group having 3 to 6 carbon atoms;
- and a bio-derived linear aldehyde having a linear alkenyl group having 3 to 6 carbon atoms;
- and
- a step of providing a bio-derived ester compound by using the resultant bio-derived branched primary alcohol and a carboxylic acid-based compound having a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 22 carbon atoms or an anhydride thereof.

A method of reducing an odor of an ester compound, comprising causing a bio-derived branched primary alcohol having a branched alkyl group having 6 to 12 carbon atoms to react as a raw material,
- wherein the bio-derived branched primary alcohol is obtained through a step of dimerizing one kind or two or more kinds selected from the group consisting of:
- a bio-derived linear primary alcohol having a linear alkyl group having 3 to 6 carbon atoms;
- a bio-derived linear primary alcohol having a linear alkenyl group having 3 to 6 carbon atoms;
- a bio-derived linear aldehyde having a linear alkyl group having 3 to 6 carbon atoms;
- and a bio-derived linear aldehyde having a linear alkenyl group having 3 to 6 carbon atoms, and
- wherein the ester compound is obtained by causing the bio-derived branched primary alcohol and a carboxylic acid-based compound having a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 22 carbon atoms or an anhydride thereof to react with each other.
