Abstract
A method for producing a lignin decomposition product includes a mixing step of obtaining a mixture comprising a substrate containing lignin and a catalyst containing at least one selected from the group consisting of divalent and trivalent metal ions; and a decomposition step of decomposing the lignin by irradiating the mixture with visible light to obtain a lignin decomposition product. A method for producing methanol includes a step of generating methanol by irradiating, with visible light, a mixture comprising a substrate containing lignin and a catalyst containing at least one selected from the group consisting of divalent and trivalent metal ions.
Claims10
A method for producing a lignin decomposition product, the method comprising:
- a mixing step of obtaining a mixture comprising a substrate containing lignin and a catalyst containing at least one selected from the group consisting of divalent and trivalent metal ions;
- and
- a decomposition step of decomposing the lignin by irradiating the mixture with visible light to obtain a lignin decomposition product.
A method for producing methanol, the method comprising a step of generating methanol by irradiating, with visible light, a mixture comprising a substrate containing lignin and a catalyst containing at least one selected from the group consisting of divalent and trivalent metal ions.
A lignin-based composition comprising:
- a lignin decomposition product obtained by decomposing lignin by irradiating, with visible light, a mixture comprising a substrate containing the lignin and a catalyst comprising at least one selected from the group consisting of divalent and trivalent metal ions;
- or
- a purified product of the lignin decomposition product.
