Abstract

Disclosed is a pottery base material that is satisfactory in terms of various properties and characteristics. The pottery base material contains at least a plastic raw material and feldspar, and is characterized in that the feldspar includes first feldspar having an average particle diameter in the range of 5.0-20.0 μm and second feldspar having an average particle diameter in the range of 2.0-4.0 μm, and the average particle diameter of the plastic raw material is in the range of 0.5-6.0 μm, wherein each of the average particle diameters is an arithmetic average of particle diameters and mass distributions measured by the sedimentation method. The pottery base material can provide a high-quality pottery having a complicated or characteristic shape and high designability in a stable manner.
