Abstract
Gas remediation and sediment harvesting systems and methods are provided comprising an airlift assembly including an aeration system and one or more pipes or hoses configured for directional water flow. The one or more pipes or hoses include an upflow arm, a horizontal arm, and a downflow arm. The aeration system includes a coarse air blower. The coarse air blower introduces macrobubbles into the one or more pipes or hoses so the macrobubbles cause the airlift assembly to vibrate, which aids in concentrating and harvesting heavy metals and rare earth elements.
Claims20
A gas remediation and sediment harvesting system, comprising:
- at least one airlift assembly including an aeration system and one or more pipes or hoses configured for directional water flow, the one or more pipes or hoses including an upflow arm, a horizontal arm, and a downflow arm;
- the aeration system including a coarse air blower in fluid communication with the one or more pipes or hoses;
- wherein the coarse air blower introduces macrobubbles into the one or more pipes or hoses such that the macrobubbles create pressure to move the water flowing through the one or more pipes or hoses such that the airlift assembly vibrates, thereby concentrating heavy metals and rare earth elements.
A method of gas remediation and sediment harvesting, comprising:
- deploying an airlift assembly incorporated into a floating island in a body of water, the airlift assembly including an aeration system and one or more pipes or hoses including an upflow arm, a horizontal arm, and a downflow arm such that water flows through the one or more pipes or hoses;
- and
- introducing macrobubbles into the upflow arm or the horizontal arm such that the macrobubbles create pressure to move the water flowing through the one or more pipes or hoses causing vibration within the one or more pipes or hoses, thereby providing a rocker table effect.
