Abstract
A medium conveying apparatus includes a media tray having a receiving surface, and a side guide to restrict widthwise shifting of a medium on the media tray. The side guide includes a swing part to swing such that a height of the swing part relative to the receiving surface changes, and a restricting part to restrict movement of a swing end of the swing part.

A medium conveying apparatus comprising:
- a media tray having a receiving surface;
- and
- a side guide to restrict widthwise shifting of a medium on the media tray, wherein the side guide includes:
- a swing part to swing such that a height of the swing part relative to the receiving surface changes;
- and
- a restricting part to restrict movement of a swing end of the swing part.
