Abstract
A roller comprising wheels to enable bi-direction movement of packages and a conveyor incorporating the same. The roller has an axis of rotation extending along a length of the roller. The roller includes the wheels disposed at positions along the length of the roller. Axes of rotation of the wheels of the roller are perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the roller. In various embodiments, adjacent wheels along the length of the roller can be circumferentially offset relative to each other.
Claims20
A conveyor comprising:
- a first frame member;
- a second frame member;
- and
- a plurality of rollers disposed between the first frame member and the second frame member and defining a conveying surface, wherein the plurality of rollers comprises a roller having an axis of rotation extending along a length of the roller, the roller comprising wheels disposed at positions along the length of the roller;
- wherein axes of rotation of the wheels are perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the roller;
- and
- wherein adjacent wheels along the length of the roller are circumferentially offset relative to each other.
A roller for bi-directional conveyance in a conveyor system, the roller comprising:
- wheels disposed at positions along a length of the roller;
- wherein the roller has an axis of rotation extending along the length of the roller;
- wherein axes of rotation of the wheels are perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the roller;
- and
- wherein adjacent wheels along the length of the roller are circumferentially offset relative to each other.
