Abstract

A conveyor system includes a frame, a plurality of rollers, and a guardrail. The frame has a first side and an opposing second side. The rollers are mounted between the first side of the frame and the opposing second side of the frame. The rollers form a conveying surface. Moreover, the rollers comprise respective tube portions and necked down sheaves mounted to the tube portions. The guardrail comprises a vertical side wall, where the guardrail is coupled to the first side of the frame. The vertical side wall of the guardrail is perpendicular to the conveying surface. The vertical side wall comprises a bottom edge, where at least a portion of the bottom edge of the vertical side wall includes a scalloped perimeter. The scalloped perimeter and necked down sheaves are aligned such that the bottom edge of the vertical side wall extends below top surfaces of the rollers.
