A changing area comprising a plurality of changing cubicles, each changing cubicle including a plurality of walls and a door, wherein a wall of each changing cubicle has an opening that exposes a storage location for a storage box, wherein the plurality of changing cubicles are arranged in a row next to one another, wherein a shelf storage for storing storage boxes is arranged behind the walls with openings of the changing cubicles, wherein a plurality of storage locations for storing storage boxes are arranged side by side and one above the other in the shelf storage, wherein the shelf storage is arranged directly behind the walls with openings of the changing cubicles, wherein the storage locations assigned to the changing cubicles are integrated into the shelf storage, wherein a manipulator with an effector is positioned behind the shelf storage, and wherein all storage locations of the shelf storage, including the storage locations assigned to the changing cubicles, are accessible by the effector of the manipulator, the manipulator being an articulated arm robot.
