Container with locking features

A combination of blanks for forming a container for holding one or more articles, the combination of blanks comprising:

• a lower construct blank for forming a lower construct, the lower construct blank comprising a plurality of lower panels including a bottom panel and a plurality of lower side panels foldably connected to the bottom panel;
• an upper construct blank comprising a plurality of upper panels, the plurality of upper panels comprising a flange panel extending at least partially around an opening and for at least partially forming a flange of the container formed from the combination of blanks, and a plurality of upper side panels foldably connected to the flange panel,
• a lid panel, and
• locking features comprising a locking tab foldably connected to the lid panel and a locking recess at least partially formed along a respective lower side panel of the plurality of lower side panels for at least partially receiving the locking tab to secure the lid panel in locking engagement with the lower construct formed from the lower construct blank.

A method of forming a container for holding one or more articles, the method comprising:

• obtaining a lower construct blank and an upper construct blank, the lower construct blank comprising a plurality of lower panels including a bottom panel and a plurality of lower side panels foldably connected to the bottom panel, the upper construct blank comprising a plurality of upper panels including a flange panel extending at least partially around an opening and a plurality of upper side panels foldably connected to the flange panel,
• forming the lower construct blank into a lower construct and forming the upper construct blank into an upper construct at least partially overlapping the lower construct, the flange panel forming a flange of the container, and the bottom panel and the plurality of lower side panels at least partially forming an interior of the container;
• positioning a lid panel in a locking engagement with the lower construct formed form the lower construct blank,
• the combination of blanks having locking features comprising a locking tab foldably connected to the lid panel and a locking recess at least partially formed along a respective lower side panel of the plurality of lower side panels, the positioning the lid panel in locking engagement with the lower construct comprises at least partially receiving the locking tab in the locking recess to secure the lid panel in locking engagement with the lower construct formed from the lower construct blank.
