Abstract
A holding system is described for uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs). The holding system includes a landing pad including a support surface for receiving a UAV. The holding system further includes a first track extending from the landing pad, the first track having a length sufficient to hold one or more UAVs. The holding system additionally includes at least one guidance component configured to direct the UAV to laterally navigate along the landing pad onto the first track after landing on the landing pad.
Claims20
A holding system for uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs), comprising:
- a landing pad including a support surface for receiving a UAV;
- a first track extending from the landing pad, the first track having a length sufficient to hold one or more UAVs;
- and
- at least one guidance component configured to direct the UAV to laterally navigate along the landing pad onto the first track after landing on the landing pad.
A method comprising:
- landing, by a UAV, on a landing pad of a holding system for uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs);
- determining, by the UAV based on at least one guidance component of the holding system, a direction of travel for the UAV on the landing pad to reach a first track of the holding system, the first track extending from the landing pad;
- and
- navigating, by the UAV based on the direction of travel, along the landing pad onto the first track.
A UAV configured to:
- land, by the UAV, on a landing pad of a holding system for uncrewed aerial vehicles (UAVs);
- determine, by the UAV based on at least one guidance component of the holding system, a direction of travel for the UAV on the landing pad to reach a first track of the holding system, the first track extending from the landing pad;
- and
- navigate, by the UAV based on the direction of travel, along the landing pad onto the first track.
