Bicycle transmission

Abstract

The present invention relates to a bicycle gearbox (1000) comprising a housing (1100), which comprises two crankshaft openings (1110), configured to allow a crankshaft 1600 to pass through it. The gearbox further comprises a continuously variable transmission (1300) with an input pulley (1310), an output pulley (1330) and a V-belt (1320) connecting them, a chain sprocket (1500), configured to connect to a chain connecting to the rear wheel, and input gears as well as output gears. The input gears (1200) are configured to connect the crankshaft (1600) to the input pulley (1310) while increasing a rotational speed of the crankshaft (1600) and provide the increased rotational speed to the input pulley (1310). The output gears (1400) are configured to connect the output pulley (1330) to the chain sprocket (1500), while reducing a rotational speed of the output pulley (1330) and provide the reduced rotational speed to the chain sprocket (1500). In the invention, the output pulley (1330) is coaxial with the crankshaft (1600).
