In a logistics module, an upper shelf and a lower shelf are slidably coupled to a frame. A set of stop members defines a lower end position and an upper end position between which the upper shelf can slide. The set of stop members also defines an upper end position and a lower end position between which the lower shelf can slide. The upper end position of the lower shelf is lower than the lower end position of the upper shelf. A coupling mechanism causes the lower shelf to slide downward and the upper shelf to slide upward when a load supported by the lower shelf exceeds a tipping threshold. Conversely, the coupling mechanism causes the lower shelf to slide upward and the upper shelf to slide downward when the load supported by the lower shelf falls below a tipping threshold relative to the load supported by the upper shelf.
