Method for braking a vehicle for carrying passengers, control unit, and vehicle for carrying passengers

A method for braking a vehicle with passengers, who are standing and/or not strapped in, in an interior of the vehicle, the method comprising:

• in the presence of a trigger criterion, braking the vehicle based on a defined brake profile by a braking system, wherein the brake profile has at least one braking phase with a number of chronologically successive partial braking regions, wherein, within the respective partial braking regions, an actual ego deceleration is defined such that, in the braking phase, the vehicle is braked by the actual ego deceleration, which changes over time, wherein the brake profile is defined in the following steps:
• detecting road users located in an environment outside the vehicle and detecting passengers located in the interior of the vehicle,
• determining road user information which is associated with the respectively detected road users, and determining passenger information which is associated with the respectively detected passengers;
• reading in a passenger injury profile for the detected passengers based on the respectively determined passenger information, and reading in a road user injury profile for the detected road users based on the respectively determined road user information;
• defining and/or reading out the brake profile based on the passenger injury profiles read in and/or the road user injury profiles read in, such that there is a minimum degree of injury for the detected road users and/or for the detected passengers in the case of the available brake profiles;
• and
• outputting the brake profile and actuating the braking system based on the brake profile.
