Abstract

An electric compressor includes an electric motor, a compression mechanism configured to be driven by the electric motor, an inverter configured to drive the electric motor, a motor housing configured to accommodate the electric motor, and an inverter case abutting on and fixed to the motor housing, the inverter case being configured to accommodate the inverter. The motor housing includes a tubular main body portion, and a first protruding portion provided on an outer peripheral surface of the main body portion. The inverter case includes an end wall, and an outer surface of the end wall includes an abutment portion that abuts on one end surface of the main body portion, and an exposed portion exposed to the outside. The exposed portion is provided with a second protruding portion. The first protruding portion is directly or indirectly fixed to the second protruding portion.
