Abstract
A machine-recognizable, biodegradable, polymeric value-document substrate includes a polymeric composite substrate based at least substantially on renewable raw materials, and at least one machine-recognizable feature substance embedded in the composite substrate. The machine-recognizable feature substance exhibits a characteristic luminescent emission when excited with light of a suitable wave-length, in particular when excited with light in the UV wavelength range or IR wavelength range.
