Abstract
Disclosed is an image forming system having a first mode in which an image forming unit forms toner images and adhesive layers on sheets, and a booklet creation apparatus creates a booklet using the sheets; and a second mode in which the image forming unit forms only adhesive layers on sheets, and the booklet creation apparatus creates a booklet using the sheets. A predetermined temperature of a fixing unit that is set for heating and pressing of a sheet in the fixing unit is lower in the second mode than in the first mode.
Claims14
An image forming system, comprising:
- an image forming apparatus including:
- an image forming unit configured to form an adhesive layer in a bonding region of a sheet, and configured to selectively form a toner image in an image formation region of the sheet;
- and
- a fixing unit configured to fix the adhesive layer and the toner image to the sheet by heating and pressing while nipping and conveying the sheet, the fixing unit including a heater configured to vary a heat generation distribution in a sheet-width direction intersecting a conveyance direction of the sheet with respect to a surface of the sheet;
- and
- a booklet creation apparatus including a thermal compression unit configured to create a booklet by heating and pressing adhesive layers fixed to a plurality of sheets in a stacked state to bond the plurality of sheets,
- wherein the image forming system is operable in a first mode in which the image forming unit forms the toner image in the image formation region and the adhesive layer in the bonding region on the sheet, and in a second mode in which the image forming unit forms the adhesive layer in the bonding region without forming the toner image in the image formation region on the sheet, and
- wherein, during heating and pressing of the sheet in the fixing unit, a ratio of a heat generation amount in the image formation region to a heat generation amount in the bonding region is lower in the second mode than in the first mode.
