Printing apparatus, method for controlling printing apparatus, and storage medium

A printing apparatus comprising:

• a printing unit configured to perform printing on a printing medium drawn out and conveyed from a roll based on an input job;
• a conveying unit capable of conveying the printing medium in a supply direction in which the printing medium is supplied to the printing unit and in an opposite direction of the supply direction;
• a winding unit configured to wind the printing medium printed by the printing unit into a roll;
• and
• a control unit configured to control printing for a first job and printing for a second job subsequent to the first job on the printing medium,
• wherein
• (i) after the first job is printed on the printing medium and a part of the second job is printed in a predetermined area continued from the first job,
• (ii) the control unit causes the printing medium to be conveyed in the opposite direction of the supply direction in which the printing medium is supplied, and
• (iii) a remaining part of the second job is printed in an area continued from the area in which at least the part of the second job is printed.

A method of printing with a printing unit, comprising the steps of:

• printing on a printing medium drawn out and conveyed from a roll based on an input job;
• conveying the printing medium in a supply direction in which the printing medium is supplied to the printing unit and in an opposite direction of the supply direction;
• winding on a winding unit the printing medium printed by the printing unit into a roll;
• and
• controlling printing for a first job and printing for a second job subsequent to the first job on the printing medium,
• wherein
• (i) after the first job is printed on the printing medium and a part of the second job is printed in a predetermined area continued from the first job,
• (ii) the printing medium is conveyed in the opposite direction of the supply direction in which the printing medium is supplied, and
• (iii) a remaining part of the second job is printed in an area continued from the area in which at least the part of the second job is printed.
