Printing device and printing method

A printing device comprising:

• a printing head having a nozzle and a curing device, the nozzle ejecting an ink including a color ink and a transparent ink, and the curing device curing the ink that has been ejected from the nozzle and has attached onto a recording medium;
• a drive mechanism that moves the printing head relatively to the recording medium in a main scanning direction and in a sub-scanning direction intersecting the main scanning direction;
• a control unit that controls the printing head and the drive mechanism to execute print processing of a plurality of printing layers onto the recording medium using the color ink and the transparent ink;
• and
• a print setting processing device that performs print setting processing of the plurality of printing layers based on printing data and print setting data,
• the printing data including:
• a composite image obtained by dividing a plurality of original images in the sub-scanning direction and combining the divided plurality of original images;
• a solid-printing image;
• and
• a lens image consisting of a plurality of long lenses aligned in the sub-scanning direction correspondingly to the composite image,
• the print setting data including print setting information for setting printing conditions of each of the printing layers, and
• the print setting processing device,
• based on the print setting data,
• setting an image layer obtained by printing the composite image with the color ink,
• setting an intermediate layer obtained by printing the solid-printing image on the image layer with the transparent ink,
• setting a lens layer obtained by printing the lens image on the intermediate layer with the transparent ink, and
• setting so that when the lens layer is formed, the printing head ejects the transparent ink onto the recording medium while the printing head is moving in the main scanning direction, and the transparent ink on the recording medium is cured by the curing device.
