Abstract
The present disclosure provides toy building blocks that easily stack and break apart. The blocks may include posts that nest inside receptacles to facilitate stacking of the blocks. The blocks may be figure 8-shaped, and may include a steep draft angle, bevels and/or protrusions to facilitate decoupling of stacked blocks without any tools.

A set comprising a plurality of stackable plastic toy building blocks, each stackable plastic toy building block comprising:
- a top comprising a plurality of posts;
- a bottom;
- a height extending from the top to the bottom;
- a perimeter comprising a left face, a right face opposite the left face, a front face, and a rear face opposite the front face;
- a length extending from the left face to the right face and perpendicular to the height;
- a width extending from the front face to the rear face and perpendicular to the height and length;
- a plurality of receptacles located below the top,
- wherein the stackable plastic toy building blocks are configured to removably attach by placing the posts of an upper plastic toy building block in the receptacles of a lower stackable plastic toy building block located below the upper plastic toy building block,
- wherein each of the front face and the rear face comprise a lengthwise center located midway between the left face and the right face;
- wherein each stackable plastic toy building block is in the shape of a figure 8 comprising a left lobe located at the left face, a right lobe located at the right face, a front arc-shaped recess comprising an apex located in the lengthwise center of the front face of the respective stackable plastic toy building block and a rear arc-shaped recess comprising an apex located in the lengthwise center of the rear face of the respective stackable plastic toy building block,
- wherein the front and rear arc-shaped recesses are configured to receive at least a portion of a left lobe or a right lobe from another stackable toy building block,
- wherein each stackable plastic toy building block comprises an exterior wall extending around the left face, right face, front face and rear face of the respective stackable plastic toy building block, said exterior wall comprising a top located below any beveled tops in the respective plastic toy building block and a bottom located at the bottom of the respective plastic toy building block,
- wherein from the top of the exterior wall to the bottom of the exterior wall, the exterior wall slopes outwardly along a draft angle,
- wherein the draft angle of the exterior wall at the lengthwise centers of the front and rear faces of the respective stackable plastic toy building block is at least about 1 degree greater than the draft angle at the left and right faces, and
- further wherein, due to the draft angle, each stackable plastic toy building block is wider and longer at the bottom as compared to the top of the respective stackable plastic toy building block.

A set comprising a plurality of stackable plastic toy building blocks, each stackable plastic toy building block comprising:
- a top comprising a plurality of posts;
- a bottom;
- a height extending from the top to the bottom;
- a perimeter comprising a left face, a right face opposite the left face, a front face, and a rear face opposite the front face;
- a length extending from the left face to the right face and perpendicular to the height;
- a width extending from the front face to the rear face and perpendicular to the height and length;
- a plurality of receptacles located below the top,
- wherein the stackable plastic toy building blocks are configured to removably attach by placing the posts of an upper plastic toy building block in the receptacles of a lower stackable plastic toy building block located below the upper plastic toy building block,
- wherein each of the front face and the rear face comprise a lengthwise center located midway between the left face and the right face;
- wherein each stackable plastic toy building block is in the shape of a figure 8 comprising a left lobe located at the left face, a right lobe located at the right face, a front arc-shaped recess comprising an apex located in the lengthwise center of the front face of the respective stackable plastic toy building block and a rear arc-shaped recess comprising an apex located in the lengthwise center of the rear face of the respective stackable plastic toy building block,
- wherein the front and rear arc-shaped recesses are configured to receive at least a portion of a left lobe or a right lobe from another stackable toy building block,
- wherein each stackable plastic toy building block comprises an exterior wall extending around the left face, right face, front face and rear face) of the respective stackable plastic toy building block, said exterior wall comprising a top located below any beveled tops in the respective plastic toy building block and a bottom located at the bottom of the respective plastic toy building block,
- wherein from the top of the exterior wall to the bottom of the exterior wall, the exterior wall slopes outwardly along a draft angle,
- wherein the exterior wall of each stackable plastic toy building block comprises a variable draft angle extending along a perimeter of the respective stackable plastic toy building block,
- wherein, excluding any bevels, for each stackable plastic toy building block, the draft angle of the exterior wall is greatest at the arc-shaped recesses as compared to the draft angle at the left and right lobes, and
- further wherein, due to the draft angle of the exterior wall, each stackable plastic toy building block is wider and longer at the bottom as compared to the top of the respective stackable plastic toy building block.
