Abstract
This disclosure relates to a handle grip for preventing roll-over. The handle grip includes two sections. The first section has a pseudo-triangular cross-sectional shape while the second section extends from the first section and transitions from the pseudo-triangular shape to a pseudo-trapezoidal cross-sectional shape. The handle grip elevates one or more proximal interphalangeal joints of the user's hands away from the handle of a handled to improve grip mechanics and prevent roll-over.
Claims20
A sport grip, the sport grip comprising:
- a first section having a first cross-sectional shape and a first longitudinal length, the first cross-sectional shape being a pseudo-triangle comprising:
- a first side having a first concave arc defined by a first radius and configured to receive a handle of a sporting device;
- a second side and a third side, the second side and the third side being of substantially equal length;
- and
- a vertex opposite the first side configured to elevate one or more proximal interphalangeal joints of a first hand of a user away from the handle when the sporting device is gripped;
- a second section extending away from the first section, wherein the first and second sections form a single molded unit formed from a material having a shore hardness of between 20 A and 50 A, the second section having a second longitudinal length, the second section lofted between, on a first end proximal to the first section, the first cross-sectional shape and, on a second end distal to the first section, a second cross-sectional shape, the second cross-sectional shape being a pseudo-trapezoid comprising:
- a first base having a second concave arc defined by a second radius and configured to receive the handle of the sporting device;
- a first leg and a second leg, the first leg and the second leg being of substantially equal length;
- and
- a second base opposite the first base configured to elevate one or more proximal interphalangeal joints of a second hand of the user away from the handle when the sporting device is gripped;
- and
- a fastening layer comprising double-sided adhesive tape configured to fasten the sport grip to the handle.

- a second side and a third side, the second side and the third side being of substantially equal length;
- and
- a vertex opposite the first side configured to elevate one or more proximal interphalangeal joints of a first hand of a user away from the handle when the sporting device is gripped;
- and
- a second section extending away from the first section, the second section having a second longitudinal length, the second section lofted between, on a first end proximal to the first section, the first cross-sectional shape and, on a second end distal to the first section, a second cross-sectional shape, the second cross-sectional shape being a pseudo-trapezoid comprising:
- a first base having a second concave arc defined by a second radius and configured to receive the handle of the sporting device;
- a first leg and a second leg, the first leg and the second leg being of substantially equal length;
- and
- a second base opposite the first base configured to elevate one or more proximal interphalangeal joints of a second hand of the user away from the handle when the sporting device is gripped.

A handle grip, the handle grip comprising:
- a single molded unit formed from a single material, the unit comprising:
- an arced surface configured to receive a handle;
- at least one surface opposite the arced surface configured to elevate one or more proximal interphalangeal joints of a hand of a user a radial distance away from the handle, wherein the distance the one or more proximal interphalangeal joints are elevated away from the handle changes across a longitudinal distance of the unit;
- and
- a fastening layer affixed to the arced surface and configured to fasten the handle grip to the handle.
